Kinesiology

What is Kinesiology?

Kinesiology is the scientific knowledge of the functioning of the muscles and the Central Nervous System to identify areas of blockage and imbalance. This means basically muscle testing, or muscle monitoring. A Kinesiologist uses for example an arm muscle and scans through a variety of possible triggers (emotions, allergens, etc). If the body disagrees with a trigger, the muscle will give in and the stressor is identified. The Kinesiologist will then scan through a similar list of balancing options and find again, guided by the muscle, which option would be best for the nervous system to not react to that stressor again in the same way. We can often not influence the stress we are exposed to, but we can decide how we are going to react to it

How does muscle testing work?

A Kinesiologist finds the emotional triggers for a specific problem and brings them to awareness.

If stress builds up in the Nervous System, it will have an effect on the strength of the muscles. For example, if you think about something stressful and you hold up your arm in front of you, another person will be able to push the arm down easily. However, if you think about something really nice, your arm will be much stronger and cannot be pushed down as easily. A good example of this would be the symptom of getting weak knees in a stressful situation.

A Kinesiologist uses this knowledge to find specific stressors which need to be diffused. If one cannot avoid a stressful situation (e.g. unrealistic demands at work), they can help the Nervous System not to react in the usual way (e.g. high stress levels, being scared, shaking hands, sweating, blushing, etc), but to stay calm and balanced. As a result, the pattern and the behaviour have changed and thus health and healing have improved.

Kinesiologists believe that 80% of all diseases are caused by emotions that were not dealt with appropriately. A Kinesiologist tries to find the root of the problem in the subconscious mind and helps the person to find a better neurological option in dealing with that specific emotion.
